    Hi Marty,

Were the people of Acts 19:1-6 baptized with the “HolySpirit” prior to their talk with Paul?
Because If they weren't, then your point becomes moot, while my point is strengthened,
because being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus is the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
                                                                             (NOT WATER BAPTISM)

    No, Ed:

The scripture states that they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus which implies water baptism, and the scripture then states that after they were baptized then the Apostle Paul laid hands on them and they received the Holy Ghost.

    Love in Christ,
    Marty

    No Marty,

What it instead implies is: that the Apostle Paul (Shaool) laying his hands on them
baptized them in the name of Jesus with the “HolySpirit”.

No one except the Lord Jesus can baptize with the Holy Spirit.

Please read the scripture and see if this is not what is stated.

You may also read some other examples in the Acts of the Apostles where people had believed and had been been baptized in water and had not received the Holy Ghost, and did not until the Apostles laid hands on them similar to what happened in this situation.

    Read Acts 8:12-17.

    Marty

    Hi Marty,

Was the Spirit of Christ not in (Shaool) the Apostle Paul?    (<– please answer)
Yes, that is what I'm trying to tell you. (reread my post :))

Acts 8:16 does, however, indicate water baptism (which in unnecessary):
(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were
baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

I do not believe that being born of water means baptism ,

and do not believe that it is our natural birth either ,

but rather ;Jn 4:10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

Jn 4:13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,
Jn 4:14 but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

reborn with the water(faith, understanding ,and believing in the son of god) given by Christ dead

    Terra,

If that is the case, can you explain.

    1.born.

    2. born again.

It does not say Born ,but born of water

And born again  ,,,,,to mean the same thing ,just another way of saying the same thing but give more clue,

    1.Born of water.

    2.Born again.

    No, Ed:

What you were trying to tell me is that water baptism is not necessary, and that is not true.

Without the death, burial and resurrection there is no need for baptism since it symbolizes our union with him showing that we have made him our Lord.

We are saved by faith in what God has done for us in the person of His Son and His Christ. Water baptism does not save us. We are baptized because we have believed with a repentant heart. Our works or actions demonstrate what we have believed.

But as to this topic, being born of water does not refer to water baptism, it refers to being born of living water which is the Word of God. When we believe the gospel, the seed that was sown in our spirit sprouts. At that point we are born of water, and when we receive the Holy Spirit we are born of the Spirit.

    Love in Christ,
    Marty

Being born of water just means that we are born flesh first, out of our mothers womb. The body holds 90% water, or something like that. It has nothing to do with living water.  Every single human being is born out of water.

John 3:5   Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Unless a man be born flesh first, (born of water) …THEN… changed to spirit at the resurrection (born of the spirit) he cannot enter the kingdom of God.  It's that simple.  We have to be flesh FIRST, then when the time comes QUICKENED TO SPIRIT just like our Lord Jesus Christ was, to enter heaven….then we can see God face to face.  Flesh and blood cannot look God in the face and live.  Flesh and blood cannot dwell amongst spirit (God, Christ, the angels etc) as we are a different material…flesh…inferior…we die, we get sick…we make mistakes etc…

God is too bright, and flesh cannot survive this type of power, only spirit can. So it's a process. Flesh first, then spirit, then enter. In other words, you cannot enter heaven until the resurrection takes place, when we are changed. Flesh and blood cannot go straight there without first going through this process.

You all got sucked into the established doctrine that born of water is the babtism.

Every human is born out of water.

    wakeup.

    wup

    1.born.

    2. born again.

    wakeup.

    Wup

It does not say Born ,but born of water

And born again  ,,,,,to mean the same thing ,just another way of saying the same thing but give more clue,

    Terra.

    In that case,can you explain:

    1.Born of water.

    2.Born again.

    wakeup.

    wup

born of water ;   means that you are on the way to be born again ,

    Terra.

You said on the way to be born again.correct

Would this be at the second coming resurrection?

    wakeup.

    wup

as soon you open the scriptures ;at that point you are starting your rebirth of water , or born of water process ,

being reborn ,of the spirit ,his wen God through Christ will make them known to you in a special way that you only can understand ,

but this will not happen at our request because God knows the heart

    Terra.

    Let me rephrase this.

    1. As soon as you start searching;you are born of water,is that correct?

2.And born again is when you are given the spirit to understand what you are reading. is that correct?

    wakeup.

You are born of water, when start reading scriptures.
So you claim to be born again, because you can understand scriptures.SO YOU CAN NOT BE BORN ANYMORE;YOU ARE BORN AGAIN.YOU ARE COMPLETE.

    What about the resurrection?
Will you *NOT* be born again?

    What about when you came into this world;
were you not born then? in the flesh?
    Did you come from space?

    wakeup.

Why is it that you can not be honest ???

    Pierre,

He's making a very good point. Remember the woman Zion. She's going to give birth to a nation in one day.
So there's a few that will be born out of her.
    Who are they?
Are they being born for the first time,
or are they being born again, but in a different way?
