I was just listening to someone being interviewed about the Azuza Street Revival.  Wow an arm growing out of an arm socket before their eyes.  Praise God. Here is the link:

So far I have only listened to the Monday broadcast.  I'm looking forward to the rest of the interview.

    God bless,

    Kathi,
Have you ever heard of the word “hoax” or the term “sleight of hand?”  This week on the TV show America's Got Talent a magician performed an act that has never been done before. He made three women in a box disappear in front of a live audience and then appear in the place of three men who then appeared in the box where the women were.

If the “miracles” you refer to were bonafide the fame of them would spread throuhgout all the land. It's just a hoax Kathi.

    Hi Jack

Why would you deny the possiblity of something you have not seen?

Is Gods power limited in this day?

    WJ,
We walk by faith and not by sight. Tell me something. The scripture says that there are such things as “lying wonders.” If all “miracles” were bonafide then there is no such thing as lying wonders. Right?

And thus you have to make up what you believe as you go along: facts and evidence are only to be included if they agree with the fantasy.

Although it probably saves time having a book of make-believe already written by others.

    Thinker,
So, if the Red Sea was parting would you be covering your eyes? Thinker, we do walk by faith and not by sight but when miracles are done by the Holy Spirit we are to rejoice and give testimony of what the Lord has done. You seem to be belittling the miracles done an Azusa Street in the name of the Lord. Why do you deny the power of the Holy Spirit here?

    Rom 15:18-19
18 For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed,
19 in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
    NASU

    1 Cor 12:8-11
    8 For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,
10 and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.
11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.
    NASU

    2 Cor 12:12
12 The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with all perseverance, by signs and wonders and miracles.
    NASU

Rejoice with those who are healed and receive miracles in the name of Jesus…don't belittle it!

    Kathi,
First, miracles and signs were phenomenon intended to usher out the old covenat age and introduce us to the new covenant age. Joel 2 and Acts 2 explicitly say that those things would be done in the “last days.” Well, the last days are behind us. The last days referred to the last days of the old covenant age.

Second, the gifts of miracles were given to Jewish Christians only. A Gentile could not receive or exercise such gifts unless he was a proselyte. In that case he was considered a Jew. So when I say we walk by faith I mean that I reject as false and a hoax anything that is contrary to what the scriptures declare. The scriptures declare that signs were for the last days and that they were for the house of Israel. So BY FAITH I know that all so called “signs” today are a hoax. Jesus said that an evil and adulteress generation trusts in signs (miracles). My eyes may be deceived.

So your point about the Red Sea being divided is not relevant because that was old covenant when God was giving signs. I would have been required to accept it as the hand of God then. But now I am required to reject “signs” and I will. And I am quite prepared to prove everything I have said.

We have been in the 'last days' for at least a thousand years.

Jer 31:33  But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34  And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

…that you do not live in the house of Israel or the house of Judah.

And that we are not there anyway because the world is not 100% christian, and therefore Jer 13:34 is not currently true and even less likely to be so in the future.

    Just exegicising.
