You two are another great comedy duo. A simplistic strawman video followed by an embarrassed fudging of it.

I guess that video disproves the existence of lungfish

Yeah imagine the first creature that came out of the water and breathed. He and his offspring spent millions of years climbing out and going “na, cant breath”.

Gradually however, lungs were being formed in a mutant, and the mutation kept mutating and once upon a time it was able to crawl out and breathe. But he had no one to mate with and died.

Over a very long period of time most animals that developed lungs through mutation and bothered to even crawl out,  died, but then one fine day two crawled out, a male an female. They both had developed lungs and they just happened to be in the same place. They looked at each other and didn't bother to mate because they didn't understand the miraculous possibilites that could eventuate if they did. They both died of old age and lonely.

An even much much longer time passed by and a male and female both crawled out of a puddle and they liked each other and guess what? The male was impotent.

Then an even much greater time passed and 2 animals from a river ended up on a river bank, they both found that they could breath as they had lungs, (wow coz I don't know of any human that has gills) and they really liked each other and made passionate love right there on the river bank. Their offspring unfortunately didn't inherit working lungs and they had to throw them back in the water.

Much later… (anyone care to finish the story?)

Much later…Ken Ham awoke and was pleased with the strawman he had dreamed up.

Meantime biology teachers across the world are trying to counter this smug biblical literalism, the telling of which for their younger and more impressionable students amounts to intellectual child abuse.

Actually a quick glance at Wikipedia suggests to me quite a lot of fish can absorb oxygen from the atmosphere, using a range of different mechanisms to do it.

Makes sense, the gills are just structures for acquiring oxygen, and it's technically far harder to get oxygen from water than the atmosphere since it's present in far lower concentrations in the water – the real need the fish would have for water that I can see would be to keep it's surfaces moist, and possibly to support it's weight (being used to inhabiting a denser medium than air and not requiring so much skeletal support as a result).

Mind you, I know nothing about biology of note, so I might be entirely wrong.

    t8,

Little bit of advice (take it or leave it): if a video only rates 1.5 stars, it is likely because it is laughably ridiculous.

Come on kejonn, be fair. It's at least 1.75 stars by my reading of it.
