The 3 Angels Messages
[The First Angel's Message] And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Revelation 14:6
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Revelation 14:7
[The Second Angel's Message] And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. Revelation 14:8
[The Third Angel's Message] And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand, Revelation 14:9
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: Revelation 14:10
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Revelation 14:11
Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12
The Three Angels Messages of Revelation give us the most important messages for these, the last days, and contain the “Everlasting Gospel” of the Love of GOD and the Greatest Warnings to ever go to the whole world…******* ******* ******* ******* ******* ******* *******
…but what do these messages from God, which go to the whole world, mean?:
…What is this “…angel fly in the midst of heaven…”?
…What is “…the Everlasting Gospel…”?
…What does it mean to “…Fear God…”
…What does it mean to “…give Glory unto Him…”?
…What does it mean that “…the hour of His judgment is come”?
…What does it mean to “…worship Him…”?
…even especially to worship Him, “…that made…”?
…Him whom made the “…heaven, and earth, and the sea…”?
…and even “…the fountains of waters.”?
…Who is this “…Him…”?
…Who/What is “Babylon…”?
…Why is Babylon “…fallen, fallen…”?
…What does it mean to call Babylon, “…that great city…”?
…What does it mean that “…she…” [Babylon] “…made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”?
…What is this “…wine…”?
…What is her “…fornication.”?
…Why does the second Angel not have a “…loud voice…” here, as the other two, and does its message also get more help later, thus amplifying all three Angels together?
…What does it mean to “…worship the beast and its image…”?
…What does it mean to “…worship…”?
…What is the “…beast…”?
…What is the Beast's “…image…”?
…What does it mean to “…receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand”?
…What is the “…mark…”?
…What is meant by the “…forehead…”?
…What is meant by the “…hand…”?
…What does it mean to “…drink of the wine of the wrath of God…”?
…What does it mean to then Drink this Wrath even “…poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation…”?
…What does it mean when it says they who Drink this Wrath will be “…tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:”?
…What does it mean by saying, “…the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever…”?
…What does it mean that they “…have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”?
…What is meant by “…his name.”?
…What is “…the patience of the Saints…”?
…What does it mean that they “…keep the commandments of God…”?
…What “…commandments of God…” are to be kept?
…What is “…the faith of Jesus…”, and is it more important to have than merely having faith 'in' Jesus?
Each of these questions are of the utmost importance, and yet their answers, according to the Scriptures, even moreso.
Why?
These are the greatest messages of warning to ever go forth into the whole world … the justice and love of God is in them … all will be tested by them, whether they will be accepted into the life, or rejected … and they will cause such a shaking as this world has never known … a time of trouble unheard of before … and the question will be asked …
For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? Revelation 6:17
Let all search the scriptures…
…all of the answers to the questions above will come. Let us go there now…
…and in order to understand this very “Present Truth” [2 Peter 1:23], we must first go to another Book, and understand it, a Book verily related to the Revelation of Jesus Christ… and that is the Book of Daniel.

Beloved…
The 3 Angels Messages are understood by myself, as given by the scriptures themselves, as we of whom I am part, are guided into all of their Truth [John 16:13] by the Holy Spirit, which is given unto those that obey God [Acts 5:32; Hebrews 5:9].
This thread is about sharing all that I have been lovingly and graciously given from God, through providence, prayer, study and by His Holy Spirit.
“…freely ye have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:8p
All, please feel free to ask questions for clarification, etc. I cannot always reply right away, and may sometimes wait to answer directly, as the answer may come in a post yet to come. Though this may also be indicated in a reply as well.
To dig into the answers to those questions, we will need to go back into The Old Testament, and consider the words already given there, for therein is much knowledge, wisdom, history, typology, prophecy and more. Let us go to the Book of Daniel…

The Present Truth; Purpose Of Prophecy; A bit on Daniel and Revelation
Let us study the Book of Daniel and the Revelation of Jesus Christ. “But why?” it may be asked.
Well, Jesus Himself, took the time to clearly identify the prophet Daniel, in the context of questions concerning end-time events [“… Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Matthew 24:3;p; “Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?” Mark 13:4], and the Revelation is truly the Revelation of Jesus Christ, a topic so important and over all consuming, that none should begin to think it not serious enough to study.
They reveal the “Present Truth” [2 Peter 1:12]. What is this Present Truth? It is simply that which is most relevant for our time as given in Scipture, even in Prophecy.
For Enoch, Methuselah and Noah it was the coming Judgment of the Global Flood.
For Abraham, it was to come out unto a place where in God had called Him.
For Lot, it was to get out of Sodom and Gomorrah, for its destruction was immediately at hand.
For Moses and Israel [the peoples], it was the salvation from the bondage of Egypt, and to go to the Promised Land of Canaan.
For Jonah it was the message of Repentance unto Ninevah.
For Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel, it was the events concerning Babylon.
For David and Solomon, the building of the Temple of God.
For Elijah, the dealings with King Ahab, Jezebel and Athaliah.
For John the Baptist, the Disciples, etc it was to proclaim the First Advent of Jesus Christ.
For Jesus, then, was to preach the Kingdom of Grace was at Hand and to fulfill His mission as the Sacrifice to redeem us. And so Christ Jesus is ever the focus of Present Truth.
…and for others, to each their own Present Truth… even as it is in this our day, which is the 3 Angels Messages of Revelation 14.
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Matthew 24:15
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: Mark 13:14
Blessed [is] he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time [is] at hand. Revelation 1:3
We are told by Peter, in his 2nd Epistle, of the 2nd Advent of Jesus Christ, and in that very context, consider what he says by the Holy Spirit, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:” 2 Peter 1:19
Those who do not take heed to the light given, shall be in darkness, and will wonder in the day of their calamity, but we, as followers of the Lamb, Christ Jesus, should not be in darkness, for we are the children of light:
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now [are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light. Ephesians 5:8
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 1 Thessalonians 5:4
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 1 Thessalonians 5:5
Though we cannot yet know “the day” and “the hour” [Matthew 24:36; Mark 13:32], for it does not say we shall not ever know, but at this moment we are commanded to know when His 2nd Advent [coming] is “near” [Matthew 24:33; Mark 13:29; James 5:9]; even told to “watch” [Mark 13:37] and “pray” [Matthew 24:20; Mark 13:18], lest “that day” should “overtake” us “as a thief” [1 Thessalonians 5:4], lest we too be “taken” [Matthew 24:40,41; Luke 17:34-36] unawares in destruction, even as it was in the “days of Noe” [Matthew 24:37-38; Luke 17:26-27], and so be destroyed and left for the feast of birds [Matthew 24:28; Luke 17:37] on the desolated earth. Those which are “taken” are the lost, for they knew not when the “door” of “mercy” [probation] was closed while the remnant of God were “sealed” and “shut in” with the Lord, for their destruction came not immediately:
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Matthew 24:39
And so, Peter did not only witness a small type of that which is to come, but he even says, that Prophecy is even more sure than his witness. The prophecies given by Jesus, are sure, “For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3
Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; God, and [there is] none like me, Isaiah 46:9
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Isaiah 46:10
And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. John 14:29
It is wise to take heed to the words of Christ Jesus, for it is written:
And it shall come to pass, [that] every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. Acts 3:23
The Book of Daniel, is a special prophetic book of the Old Testament. It is the 'sister' book to the Revelation of Jesus Christ, for the two &#
39;books' go hand in hand. In the Book of Daniel, a portion of it, was “seal[ed]” [Daniel 12:4,9], while in the Revelation of Jesus Christ, that very same portion of the Book of Daniel is there “open[ed]” [unsealed; Revelation 10:2,8], to be prophesied unto the whole world after a specific prophetic time has come to pass. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, [even] to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4
And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words [are] closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Daniel 12:9
And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and [his] left [foot] on the earth, Revelation 10:2
And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer. Revelation 10:6
And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go [and] take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. Revelation 10:8
And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take [it], and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. Revelation 10:9
And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. Revelation 10:10
And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings. Revelation 10:11
The Book of Daniel itself is really not merely one prophetic book, but two portions related one to the other, even with a special portion of it “sealed” until “the time of the end” [Daniel 12:4,9], which we, will discover in this study was a very specific date.
This Book of Daniel may be basically subdivided into Chapters 1-7 and Chapters 8-12, respectively, though Chapter 1 is really a basis and connection for both major portions. This is seen not only in the text itself for Daniel Chapter 1:1-2:4[a], which is the introductory portion of the Book of Daniel, is given in Hebrew, while Daniel Chapter 2:4-7:28 is given in Aramaic [Chaldee]. It is when we get to Daniel Chapter 8:1-12:13, that again the Book of Daniel is given primarily in Hebrew language once more.
This is not the only way in which to tell that these two portions are so delineated. For we can tell by the very structure of the Book of Daniel in its Chiastic nature, as Daniel Chapters 1-7 are given Chiastically [Chiasm, “v”, “^” or “x” in shape structurally; ie, abccba, 123321, or more complicated, etc] in the shape of the 7 Branch Candlestick of the Sanctuary, for instance:
Daniel 1 is the center candlestick.
Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 are the first corresponding branches.
Daniel 3 and Daniel 6 are the next corresponding branches.
Daniel 4 and Daniel 5 are the latter corresponding branches. Thus, imagine the tips of the candles forming on the candelabra: 4 3 2 1 7 6 5
>
7 Branch
This is not arbitrary and wishful thinking, but will fully be shown to be so, in the study to come, for the Book of Daniel will be seen to be full of the language of the Sanctuary [Tabernacle/Temple] of God, the very Plan of Salvation in picture. The Revelation of Jesus Christ, will be shown to be written in the same manner, after the pattern of the 7 Branch Candlestick…
The entire Book of Daniel is about Christ Jesus and His [God's] Judgment. In fact the very name of Daniel, comes from “Dan” [judge] and “El” [God], which means “God is [my] Judge”. In fact, when we see the name “Dan” given in scripture it is associated with judgment:
Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. Genesis 49:16
The Book of Daniel, itself, opens with judgment come upon the very people of God [Israel] for their many transgressions and rebellions to God and His Law – The Ten Commandments.
All should, now open their Bibles prayerfully to the study of these two books [Daniel, Revelation], as they are specifically for these end time generations to read and study. These two Books will reveal Christ Jesus unto us as never before, for all of prophecy that is given, is given for man's redemption…
Are we to guess at prophecy and its symbols? No, for it is written:
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 2 Peter 1:20
For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little: Isaiah 28:10
For if we merely guess and determine by our own methods and reject the method of God's own choosing of “line upon line”, then it is given unto all, “…they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.” [Isaiah 28:13;p]
Unto the Book of Daniel…

Quote (AWHN @ Nov. 01 2012,14:44) [The First Angel's Message]
And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Revelation 14:6
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Revelation 14:7
The everlasting gospel has been spread throughout the earth since the death and resurrection of Christ. This angel must of started then. All angels have their jobs, and their assignments. This angel was in charge of the message being spread. So first angel, is Stage 1 of the spreading of the everlasting gospel.
This also shows us that angels are here, unseen by us, but active and being used by our Heavenly Father to guide men into hearing the message of Christ, an invitation to come into the kingdom, for some, they will guide to the truth, under the hand of God, but for most…. for a witness only.
Quote (The Second Angel's Message) And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. Revelation 14:8
2nd Angel, stage 2. Time up Babylon, you have come to your end. You're sins have reached to heaven and evil has peaked. Any one that has not come out of her by now (Babylon) will take part in her sins, and the judgement she is about to receive. The people of Babylon, you're fate is now sealed….But last warning TO THE CHRISTIANS. LAST LAST LAST CHANCE TO ALL YOU CHRISTIANS THAT ARE LUKE WARM, AND HAD ONE FOOT IN THE KINGDOM, AND ONE FOOT IN BABYLON.Quote (The Third Angel's Message) And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand, Revelation 14:9 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: Revelation 14:10
Stage 3, third angel. In other words…
THE TIME HAS COME ALL YOU LUKE-WARMERS.
ALL YOU WHO FED ON STRANGE FLESH, AND NOT THE FLESH OF CHRIST,
ALL YOU WHO EXCHANGED THE TRUTH FOR THE LIE, AND HAD PLEASURE IN UNRIGHTEOUSNESS,
ALL YOU WHO DID NOT RECEIVE THE PROPHETS I SENT YOU, AND INSTEAD ACCEPTED PROPHETS WHOM I DID NOT SEND.
ALL YOU WHO TRUSTED IN MEN AND FORGOT YOUR FIRST LOVE.
ALL YOU PASTORS, AND PREACHERS, AND DISCIPLES WHO RESISTED THE TRUTH AND TRAMPLED IT,
YOU DID NOT WARN MY SERVANTS OF THIS DAY TO COME.
ALL YOU WHO DID NOT LET THE PRISONERS GO FREE, YOU KEPT THE KEY AND MAKE THEM SICK WITH YOUR STRANGE FLESH AND SOUR MILK.
ALL YOU WHO ROCKED THEM TO SLEEP
ALL YOU WHO SAID THE MARK OF THE BEAST IS ONLY WORSHIP, ONLY SPIRITUAL, AND NOT A PHYSICAL MARK THEY WILL GIVE TO YOU…
NOW IS THE TIME TO REALISE THE ERROR OF YOUR TEACHINGS
AND INFORM THE PEOPLE THAT THE MARK OF THE BEAST IS PHYSICAL, AND THEY WILL INSERT SOMETHING INTO YOUR RIGHT HAND OR FOREHEAD.
A PHYSICAL MARK WITH YOUR PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION, SO THAT YOU CAN NOT BUY OR SELL UNLESS YOU RECIEVE THIS MARK.
TELL THEM NOW IS THE TIME TO WALK YOUR TALK, TO PROVE WHOSE KINGDOM YOU BELONG TO…
AND TELL THEM THAT YOU WERE WRONG ALL THIS TIME….
THAT THE TIME HAS COME AND WE MUST REFUSE THIS MARK THAT WILL BE ISSUED TO THE WHOLE WORLD,
TO ALL…. BOTH SMALL AND GREAT, RICH AND POOR, FREE AND BOND
TELL THEM BECAUSE THEY TRUSTED IN YOU, THEY WERE NOT FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH, AND NOW CAN ONLY HOPE FOR MERCY.
TELL THEM THE TRUTH.
TELL THEM THEY WILL BE KILLED FOR NOT RECEIVING THIS MARK,
AND TELL THEM THAT THEY NOW HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE FIRE,
TO BE PURIFIED BY DEATH
BECAUSE THEY WERE DIRTY.
TELL THEM TO WASH THEIR ROBES CLEAN.
TELL THEM THIS IS THEIR ONLY CHANCE NOW,
AND TELL THEM YOU ARE SORRY FOR NOT PREPARING THEM.
TELL THEM THAT THE WRATH OF GOD IS HERE NOW,
AND HIS SEVEN ANGELS ARE ABOUT TO SOUND, AND THE FIRST PUNISHMENT STARTS WITH ALL THEM THAT WILL RECIEVE THE MARK UP UNTIL THE LAST TRUMPET.
TELL THEM THE THIRD ANGEL'S WARNING IS TO US.Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
November 2, 2012 at 5:42 pm#318615AnonymousInactiveQuote (journey42 @ Nov. 02 2012,13:10) Greetings AWHN
Hello,The First Angel, though it is preaching the Everlasting Gospel, did not begin in the days of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. This 'Angel' does not merely begin in a localized area and spread out, but is seen altogether preaching to the whole world. As we shall see in the posts to come, it is not directly an Angel which is preaching, but we shall look at that a bit later.
The Second Angel, says “Babylon is fallen, is fallen…”, not that those that are still in it are hopeless yet, for otherwise how can God still call His people out of it? A message is even now going forth which is calling His people out… probation is not yet closed, and we shall look more at this a bit later.
The Third Angels message is most serious, and must be understood, but it cannot be so, unless the first 2 Angels messages are understood, for these are not three separate messages, but rather are one message. The Mark of the Beast deals with worship, the entire focus of the Messages, even of Revelation, in which a question coms to the fore, Who is our God, whom do we Worship? Much more will be given upon these messages, and we shall see from scripture itself the answers.

******* ******* ******* ******* ******* ******* *******
In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it. Daniel 1:1
God had long ago, before this moment, warned the people Israel [Leviticus 26:14-39; Deuteronomy 28:14-68], and in many times after [Joshua, Isaiah, Jeremiah, etc], that if they would go astray, cease from their love towards God, and go after other gods [which are no gods, but are dumb idols and devils; Galatians 4:8] and not obey the voice of the Lord, to keep His Commandments, that they would receive judgment upon themselves [Isaiah 5:13; Hosea 4:6-10]. God had even foretold such judgments [even in the days of Isaiah and Hezekiah; Isaiah 38:1-5, 39:1-7; 2 Chronicles 32:31-33], even because of the sins of Manasseh [2 Kings 24:3], and now judgment had come.
And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god. Daniel 1:2
Jehoiakim [once named Eliakim, before PharaohNechoh, the Egyptian King, changed it; 2 Kings 23:34; 2 Chronicles 36:4], was the 3rd to the last ruler over Judah, and was 25 years old when he began to reign, reigning only 11 years [2 Kings 23:36; 2 Kings 24:5; 2 Chronicles 36:5] and did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord [2 Kings 23:37; 2 Chronicles 36:8]. He was then given into the hand of the King of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar [II] [2 Chronicles 36:6-7].
Notice that this text, reveals something important about the judgment itself upon Israel, what did it involve? Transgression of His Commandments. See where the text reveals that God allowed “part of the vessels of the house of God” to be “carried into the land of Shinar [Babylon] to the house of his god”, and even placed them “into the treasure house of his god”. See Ezra 1:7,9,10,11, 5:14,15, 6:5; Jeremiah 27:16,18-22, 28:3,6, for more items were also carried off at later dates/stages, see Jeremiah 52:17-23,28,29,30.
But the one item that is missing from every list [Jeremiah 3:16], either taken or brought back, is verily the Ark of the Covenant, in which lay the Ten Commandments, and is never seen again. It is only once we get to the Revelation of Jesus Christ do we see the True Ark in the Heavenly [“…the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament…” Revelation 11:19;p], of which the earthly was patterned [Exodus 25:9,40; Numbers 8:4; Hebrews 8:5; etc] after. This is for several reasons, in that First, to live in transgression of God's Law is to be in dark bondage [“…Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.” John 8:34;p and those which teach to break God's Ten Commandments, it is said, “While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.” 2 Peter 2:19] and without God's protection [Numbers 25:1-9, 31:16; etc]. Second, that to leave the Ark of the Covenant in the hands of the uncircumcised would result in disasters upon them, for when the Ark was in the hands of such nations, other than Israel, plagues came [Philistines; 1 Samuel 4:17-22, 5:1-12, 6:1-21] and death came to those which handled it not aright [Uzza; 1 Chronicles 13:7-10].
A few years later, Jerusalem itself, would be razed to the ground by Babylon:
The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof. Lamentations 4:11
The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem. Lamentations 4:12
For we know that even though God is loving and merciful, long-suffering and forgiving, these things do not erase the consequences of our sinful choices, even as it did not for Israel… and so 70 years [Jeremiah 25:11,12, 29:10; Daniel 9:2; Zechariah 7:5] they were to be in captivity. Even though, we as Christians are forgiven of our own sins, and soon, from the cleansing work of Christ Jesus, our Great High Priest, ministering in the Heavenly, the record of those sins are to be blotted out forever [Leviticus 16; Acts 3:19; etc], still, when all is said and done, Christ Jesus will still eternally bear in His immortal humanity, the marks of His sacrifice upon the Cross of Calvary [Luke 24:39,40; John 3:16, 20:19,20,25,27].
And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. Exodus 34:5
And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Exodus 34:6
Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear [the guilty]; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth [generation]. Exodus 34:7
Now, notice that the King Nebuchadnezzar [II] placed all of the captured Temple treasures into the very treasure room of the temple of His own god. By doing this, he sought to show the glory and power of his own god above that of the Hebrews, and God allows this shame to be manifested, so that Israel may see what sin brings – nakedness and shame [Genesis 3:7,10,11; Exodus 32:25; 2 Chronicles 28:19; Isaiah 20:4; Lamentations 1:8, 4:21; Ezekiel 23:10,29; Hosea 2:3; Amos 2:16; Nahum 3:5; Mark 14:51,52; Acts 19:16; Revelation 3:17, 16:15, 17:16], and even Christ Jesus was naked himself upon the Cross [Matthew 27:35; Mark 15:24; Hebrews 12:2], having become “sin for us” [2 Corinthians 5:21].
Israel [God's peoples, verily our brothers and sisters in a previous time], were now in captivity of Babylon, even as many are today, captive to Babylon. Captive to her ways, captive to her styles of worship, captive to her modes o
f excitement, captive to her styles of music, captive to her modes of diet, captive to her ways of pleasure and rioting, etc, And like Israel of old, they do not want to leave when the time is come to be delivered, for they are too settled in their houses, in their ways, in their lives in Babylon, and will choose to stay in her… but there is a message verily today, even as then, “…Come out of her My people…” [Revelation 18:4;p]And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring [certain] of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes; Daniel 1:3
This was in fulfillment of the very words of God in the prophecy of Isaiah:
And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon. Isaiah 39:7
And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon. 2 Kings 20:18
God, in His infinite Love, will allow and/or decree such circumstances to so come about that will reveal our deep need of Him in every aspect of our lives, that we may totally distrust self as any reliable guide. For we do not set morality or our own criteria for what is sacred and holy. Additionally, we cannot of our own selves do anything [John 15:5], but through Christ Jesus, “all things” [Philippians 4:13].
Children in whom [was] no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as [had] ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. Daniel 1:4
As unto types of Christ, being without “blemish”, even as the lambs of sacrifice were to be [Exodus 12:5, 1 Peter 1:19, etc]. These “children” are examples of what faithful sons and daughters of God ought to be in their characters [Ephesians 5:27; 2 Peter 3:14]. The Book of Daniel is especially to be studied intensely and prayerfully by youth, though not merely for them, as in many places, it deals with decision making in daily choices which have eternal consequences. – “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” [Proverbs 22:6]
And if we, too, are faithful in all that God has blessed us with [Luke 16:10-12, 19:12-27], being “faithful” “stewards” [1 Corinthians 4:2], then we, too, shall also one day “stand in the King's Palace”, in the very presence of The King [Proverbs 22:29; Revelation 4:6, 15:2].
What then is the lesson? Let us not waste our God given “talents”, but rather “…thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” [Deuteronomy 6:5;p] and “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.” [Proverbs 3:9] for it is written, “…The earth [is] the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” [Psalms 24:1;p], and we are not our own [1 Corinthians 6:20, 7:23].
And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king. Daniel 1:5
In the courts of Babylon, there are numerous and myriad temptations, distractions and sinful pleasures, and all these must be set aside, turned away from and overcome, that we might obtain the promises [Revelation 1-3]. Temperance, watchfulness and prayer are needed. While it may seem that the King of Babylon would do us all a favor, even in sincerity, in bestowing upon his own diet of food and drink, and ways, in the end it would bring only sickness and disease, lack of an upright moral character and sin which leads unto eternal death [Romans 6:23].
There are certain and specific commandments of God laid out in scripture for His children, in dealing with what they may or may not partake of, that they may be ever healthy, happy and holy – undefiled. Many, willingly or ignorantly, today refuse these and suffer many years… until finally life is given up in the struggle: “Wherefore do ye spend money for [that which is] not bread? and your labour for [that which] satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye [that which is] good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.” [Isaiah 58:2] and “Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?” [Ecclesiastes 7:17]. As it is said, “My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:” [Proverbs 3:1] and “For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.” [Proverbs 3:2]
Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: Daniel 1:6
Names in scripture, represent Character, and are purposeful in revealing more about whom is loved and served by the one bearing the name [Exodus 34:5-8; Psalms 46:7,11; Isaiah 7:14, 8:8; Matthew 1:23; Revelation 3:12; etc].
Judah – “I will praise the Lord” [Genesis 29:35]
Daniel – [for] “God is my judge” [in the day of judgment]
Hananiah – [and] “Jehovah has favored [or is gracious]” [unto me]
Mishael – [making me to be] “like unto God” [in character, re-made and re-newed into His image]
Azariah – [for I am one] “whom Jehovah has helped” [by His so great salvation]Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel [the name] of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego. Daniel 1:7
Thus we see that Babylon, cannot allow the things of God to remain as they are, and must therefore alter it, for the two are incompatible [Amos 3:3; Romans 6:16; 1 Corinthians 10:21; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, etc], and even moreso, Babylon ever seeks to exalt itself over and above all that is God, and cannot bear the True God in its presence. Babylon seeks to eradicate and erase all trace of true worship of the True God, but it does so by replacing and taking the place of the True God, it is amalgamation, mixing and confusion.
Thus, it also works in reverse, for that which is of Babylon cannot remain in the presence of God and
must be done away with, for God calls for separation, distinction and clarity. When we come out of Babylon, and choose Christ Jesus, we too get a new name, a new character [Romans 6:6; Galatians 2:20].But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Daniel 1:8
Do we purpose in our own hearts, daily, to serve the Lord with all our being, no matter what may come and not to defile ourselves with the things and ways of Babylon? Will we stand upon the Rock and unmovable commandments and principles of the Word of God, or shall we compromise in the least of things, thinking “What harm shall befall me?”
Make no mistake, we are surrounded by Babylon and Babylonians, and we are to trust in God and cling unto Him, and continue in abiding in Him and His ways and Commandments come what may, but we needn't be arrogant in so doing, but submitted to His will in humility. Notice that Daniel did not storm about seeking to overthrow the whole thing, or attack his captors with his utensils, but rather sought by asking first.
Why would such a thing as diet matter to Daniel? He knew it involved the Commandments of God, which in turn would affect not only his body, but also mind and heart – thus affecting eternal salvation. For what is eaten does so affect how we think and how to react and feel and how we worship. Consider Adam and Eve, before and after the tree. God is clear in His Word about not eating anything that is identified as “unclean” or “abomination” [Deuteronomy 14:3; etc] and alcoholic content is forbidden in the Bible [Habakkuk 2:5; etc], for it is a tool of death and destruction. God has much to say upon what we may partake of and place into these Holy Temples.
In the Beginning, God, created the Earth [Genesis 1:1], and upon that Earth He made man [Genesis 1:26], Adam [Genesis 2:19] and from Adam, He, made Eve [Genesis 1:27, 2:22], and thus all of mankind in them [Acts 17:26; 1 Corinthians 15:22].
The food to which humans were to eat were not flesh, but originally were to eat of the Fruits from the Seed Bearing Plants and Seed Bearing Trees [Genesis 1:29; 2:9] and to all of the animals he also gave plants [Genesis 1:30]. This was before the sin of mankind.
After the sin of mankind [Genesis 3:17], God also then gave to Adam and Eve the green herbs and plants of the field [Genesis 3:18]. Yet still no flesh was to be eaten, even when the first sacrifice took place [Genesis 3:21], the lamb slain at the foundation of the world [Revelation 13:8] which was to be repeated [Genesis 4:4] until Christ's death [Galatians 4:2; Hebrews 9:10] when the sacrifice was to cease [Daniel 9:27; Hebrews 10:12], the flesh was not eaten but burned upon the altar [Genesis 8:20], and the blood poured upon the ground and was never to be eaten at all [Genesis 9:4] and the fat offered to God [Genesis 4:4; Exodus 29:13] and not to be eaten [Leviticus 7:23].
Before the Flood, God told Noah to take aboard the Ark, 7 pairs of the Clean beasts [Genesis 7:2] and a pair of the Unclean beasts [Genesis 7:2]. God made the distinction well before Moses and so Noah knew about the division of the animals as God had given them, for God does not change [Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 1:12, 13:8; James 1:17], neither His Word [Psalms 89:34] and all of scripture is for instruction in Righteousness [2 Timothy 3:16], line upon line [Isaiah 28:10]. And Noah was a Preacher of Righteousness [2 Peter 2:5].
It was only after the Flood that God allowed the Flesh of creatures to be consumed [Genesis 9:3], but notice carefully the words used in this passage of Genesis, for God even makes distinction about what can and cannot be eaten even here, as He says, “even as the green herb of the field”. There were even restrictions there, for there were poisonous plants and even thorns [Genesis 3:18] upon the earth after sin, that also could not be eaten. Noah knew that the Fat was already the LORD's and the Flesh with the Blood still in it and the Blood itself was to never be eaten [Genesis 9:4], but Noah also knew about the distinction between Clean and Unclean already [Genesis 7:2]. Which God also gave to Moses and the Israelites Leviticus 11; Deuteronomy 14; etc] for their good.
After the Flood, the age of mankind fell from the near millennial range [930 for Adam [Genesis 5:5], 969 for Methuselah [Genesis 5:27] 950 for Noah [Genesis 9:29]] to a mere hundred or so years [120 Moses [Deuteronomy 34:7]]. For God had said, for every animal slain that He would require its blood at the hand of mankind [Genesis 9:5]. But God nowhere ever said that the Unclean could be eaten at all and never lifted His Command against eating them.
God said of the Unclean and the Abomination: “Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.” [Deuteronomy 14:3]
God spoke of those who would choose to ignore His laws on what could and could not be eaten that they would face judgment: “They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one [tree] in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.” [Isaiah 66:17]
God said of the coming Kingdom: “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.” [Revelation 21:27]
The Commandments of God on the food can be especially seen in Leviticus and Deuteronomy and were Holy Laws, for it contains these words: “…be ye therefore Holy, for I am Holy…” [Leviticus 11:44;p, etc] and were for our protection and health [Exodus 15:26] and well being [3 John 1:2] and is restated in the New Testament [1 Peter 1:16] and whatsoever we do, we should do to the Glory of God [1 Corinthians 10:31] and it is impossible in disobedience.
God would never accept an Unclean animal as a sacrifice, and did not want them in the Sanctuary [Deuteronomy 7:26]. And God says to us, “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” [1 Corinthians 3:16].
God even told us to be careful even about eating that which was Clean, and if they were going t
o be eaten, that they should be eaten sparingly, moderately and lightly. The example of the Children in the Wilderness was for our example, that they ate of the Bread from Heaven and Water from the Rock, and when they complained they were fed flesh [Numbers 11:4], and they gorged themselves and a plague broke out, even upon clean food.
But after 40 years of miracles and being fed by God of manna and water, that which was good [Deuteronomy 29:5-6], none of them were sick neither ill [Nehemiah 9:20,21], but each strong going into the promised land, [Deuteronomy 6:24, 11:8] and none feeble [Psalms 105:37].
For in the New Heaven and New Earth, there will be no such thing as animal death either [Isaiah 11:9, 65:25; Revelation 21:4].
God is going to restore us to the Edenic plan.
Remember, the whole issue of obedience to the Word of God started over what mankind was told Not to Eat [Genesis 2:17, 3:11]. Should we not carefully consider the Commandments of God on food and drink, and eat that which is Good? [Isaiah 55:2]
There are several texts in the New Testament [and even a few in the Old Testament] which are used by many and are “wrested” and they also who “twist” the Word of God unto their own destruction. Peter warns against doing this [2 Peter 3:16], and so we are warned in advance [Galatians 6:7-8].
Here are those primary [misunderstood and misused] Texts:
Genesis 9
Matthew 15; Mark 7
Acts 10, 11 and 15
Romans 14
1 Corinthians 8, 10
Galatians 3 and 4
Ephesians 2
Colossians 2
1 Timothy 4
Titus 1…and each may be considered in full, even in depth and detail, veruly revealing that God's Health laws stand to be obeyed, and any that transgress will reap what they have sown.
Here is the main point on diet:
Jesus wants us to have abundant life, not weakened and sickened and diseased life [John 10:10]. Jesus also gives us commandments concerning that which is good to drink and to stay away from things like “alcohol” [fermented 'wine'] and “stimulants”.
And ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free. [John 8:32]
Let these things be 'digested'…
…take some time, 'chew slowly', and really consider the whole [wheat] of scripture on these subjects, for in so doing, a great amount of light will be shed, and health will come because these things of God are obeyed. Knowing that there are questions, and even thoughts which arise, simply go to the scriptures and ask God in prayer, “What is Truth?” and He will reveal it, even “line upon line”. We may look together.
For Daniel, in obeying the Lord, became wiser and stronger.
Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. Daniel 1:9
It is ever the Love of God that is seeking to save, even those which are in Babylon. He does this in innumerable ways, and in many instances uses the humble human instrumentality to reach out unto the lost. God allows such circumstances to come about, that He may then send forth His messengers and bearers of light and life and bring them into the closest contact those who know not God. Notice, however, it was not Daniel seeking in compromise to win others to God, but it was God which does the bringing about, and if we are atoned with Him, we may yet work alongside the Master.
And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which [are] of your sort? then shall ye make [me] endanger my head to the king. Daniel 1:10
In this passage we see the contrast of characters. Daniel feared the infinite and all-powerful and loving God and sought to please Him, and the “prince of the eunuchs” rather feared “my lord the king” of Babylon, a worldly, fickle and finite entity and did not want to endanger his “head to the king” [Matthew 10:28]. Daniel in awe, reverence and love for God, and the “prince of the eunuchs” in fear for his existence by another human, whom is verily as made of dust as he. Daniel is turned down by this man, but Daniel did not give up, but continued to ask another…
Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, Daniel 1:11
Daniel, though denied at the first request, sought a second from another and prevailed. Do we give up too soon in pleasing God? Shall we not strive for the mastery [1 Corinthians 9:25] in patience and well-doing [Romans 2:7; Galatians 6:9; 2 Thessalonians 3:13; 1 Peter 2:15, 3:17, 4:19]?
Yeah, though we may have many masters in this world below, we have truly but 'one' Master above, even God, and to Him do we owe all, for we are His by Creation and Redemption.
Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. Daniel 1:12
The simple diet given of God, is far and above the slathered dainties and destructive delicacies of Babylon. Does God really care about what we eat and drink? Yes, God cares, for “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” [1 Corinthians 10:31], for He knows that what we rebel in what what eat or drink will only cause us harm, disease, loss of life, pain and suffering and death. God is the Great Physician [Jeremiah 8:22; Matthew 9:12; Mark 2:17; Luke 4:23, 5:31], the Healer [Psalms 30:2; Isaiah 53:5; Jeremiah 17:14; Luke 6:17], and Comforter [Psalms 23:4, 71:21; Isaiah 53:1; John 14:16, 15:26, 16:7]. Place not your comfort in food, but rather in God. Eating that way in which God instructs, will allow our organs to work better, our blood to flow more swiftly and carry more oxygen, and our brains to function more clearly, that we may think and understand the Word of God all the more, even so much so that we may love God all the more, with more reasoning!
Just Ten Days… a trial period, a testing and probation, even as there are Ten Commandments.
Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. Daniel 1:13
Now is the time of our probation, and sooner than many think, the days will come when that period will be over, and we must be brought before The King that He may look into our countenances, into our likenesses [not that He does not already know, but for the Heavenly Host], and what will He see? Will He see His likeness reflected or Babylons?
Do we seek the Water of Life to drink or the corrupted wines of Babylon?
So God will deal with us. Either we will have eaten the Bread of Life with the Lord and sat with Him, and He having
supped with us, or we will have squandered away the precious gift of life in feasting at the tables of Babylon. So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. Daniel 1:14
The follower of God, is given time to reveal in their life whether or not they have become changed in the heart, and whether or not they are willing to abide in the vine. Even as Adam and Eve were given such time, but wherein they failed at the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil, even a matter of eating, Christ Jesus was victorious and overcame, and He can give that same victory to you and I – today and every day. It is not enough to merely say “I believe…” and “do not”; for we must of necessity 'believe it' and 'be living it'.
And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat. Daniel 1:15
Not only are there immediate blessings and benefits in obeying the voice of the Lord, there are eternal ones…
Blessed are those which follow the commandments and counsels of God. Even at the end of our days, and our probation… if we are faithful unto Him who is True, we too shall be changed [Job 14:14; Matthew 22:30; Mark 12:25; Luke 20:35; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52], and our countenances will shine [Daniel 12:3] and be lighted up with the eternal Glory of God.
But unto those which continue to partake of the Babylonian things, how can God give unto them the “True Riches” [Luke 16:11] if they had not been faithful in that which is least? There is still time left, to seek God for a change of heart and ways, go unto Him now, Today. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” [2 Peter 3:9], but there is a time coming when there is no longer room for reptentance, even if it be sought with many tears [Hebrews 12:17].
Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse. Daniel 1:16
Thus, the portion of Babylon will be removed, finally and forever for those which are faithful unto God… but unto those which refuse, they must swallow and drink down all of the corrupted wine of Babylon, until they are no more [Obadiah 1:16]…
For in the New Heavens and the New Earth, which He will make, there will be no death, nor pain, nor sorrow, for God will wipe away every tear [Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 7:17, 21:4], and we shall long enjoy the Garden of God…
…for those desiring that “better [country]” [Hebrews 11:16] will begin now, in the strength of Jesus Christ, to put away those habits and practices in this life which are sinful, harmful to our selves and others and rebellious towards God.
As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. Daniel 1:17
The number 4 is the scriptural number for Universal – or in all directions – North, East, West and South, like unto the 4 winds of Heaven, the 4 Corners of the earth, 4 Angels holding back the winds of strife, 4 Horns upon the altar, 4 Parts of Christ's clothing, 4th Commandment which reveals God is the Creator of All [even all of space and all of time], etc [Exodus 20:8-11; Jeremiah 49:36, Ezekiel 37:9, 43:15,20; Daniel 7:2, 8:8, 11:4; Zechariah 1:18, 2:6; Matthew 24:31; Mark 13:27; John 19:23; Revelation 7:1, 9:13; etc]. Thus this message and lesson is given for all the children of God, that we might know for certain that it is God which gives wisdom [Proverbs 2:6].
Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel 1:18
This “end of the days” is not after “ten days” [Daniel 1:12,14,15], but after the “three years” [Daniel 1:5].
We too will one day stand before “the King of Kings” [1 Timothy 6:15; Revelation 17:14, 19:16], even in “the end of the days”, as we are then brought unto Him by His “Angels” [for these fulfill the type of eunuch; Matthew 22:30; Mark 12:25; Luke 20:35 and Matthew 13:39, etc].
And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. Daniel 1:19
And so likewise, shall Christ Jesus, when we obey Him in His Commandments, will even “commune” with us from upon His Throne of Grace [Hebrews 4:16], even as He sits above His Mercy Seat [Exodus 25:22]. He shall refine us in the fires of affliction [Acts 14:22; 1 Peter 4:12], that we may be “purified” [Daniel 12:2; 1 Peter 1:22], and come forth as purest “gold” [Job 23:10], and as precious jewels [Malachi 3:17], and sifted as the precious grain [Amos 9:9]. Will we be like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, so that God may say of us that “among them all was found none like” them? Is God as precious to us, as we are to Him, even so much so that we are bought with a price incalculable [Matthew 13:46; John 3:16; Acts 20:28; 1 Corinthians 6:20, 7:23]?
And in all matters of wisdom [and] understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians [and] astrologers that [were] in all his realm. Daniel 1:20
For the Wisdom of God cannot be bought for a price [Job 28:12-28], it can only be given unto us by God [Exodus 28:3, 31:6, 35:31; 1 Kings 10:24, Job 38:36; Proverbs 4:11; etc], an this only in obedience to His will [Acts 5:32; Hebrews 5:9], for he that is faithful in that which is least, will be faithful in that which is much [Luke 16:10]. For God desires us to have this wisdom [Psalms 51:6, 111:10], therefore “How much better [is it] to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver.” [Proverbs 16:16].
The glory of God so shall be revealed in our characters and lives [Proverbs 3:3, 15:33], that others that know not, will stop to consider and see, and magnify the Lord also and so even the heathen will marvel [Deuteronomy 4:6; 2 Chronicles 9:22,23]. God will show that the wisdom of men is folly [Proverbs 1:7], and the ways of men foolishness, and false religions and sorceries a vain and cruel thing, but the Wisdom of God [for all Wisdom is with Him [Colossians 2:3]], is light and life [Proverbs 9:10; Ecclesiastes, 12:13,14; Colossians 1:9,28, 3:16].
And Daniel continued [even] unto the first year of king Cyrus. Daniel 1:21
In obedience to God is long life in the land [Exodus 20:6,12], and shall we likewise, in patience as Daniel, seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness [Matthew 6:33], we too shall see the first year of our saving King, outshining even the sun, when He comes to reign in power and glory, even to sit upon the Throne of His glory [Matthew 19:28, 25:31].
We see in this text a foreshadowing of the Next Kingdom to come after Babylon ruled and was conquered. It was to be conquered ultimately by Cyrus [possessing the glory of a blazing furance], that type pointing to Christ Jesus, the Shepherd and Anointed of the Lord [Isaiah 44:28, 45:1], who was to come from the East [Isaiah 41:2, 46:11; Ezekiel 43:2; Revelation 16:12], as it is foretold, coming with great forces [Cyrus, Medo-Persians; Christ Jesus, every angel in Heaven; Matthew 25:31, etc], bringing deliverance to “Israel” [God's peoples, even as we are today], drying up the Great River Euphrates, and conquering the wicked Babylonian King, so that they could go free into the Promised Land.
We, too, likewise are awaiting our Cyrus, Christ Jesus in His Second Advent, for not only may we be set free of [Mystery] Babylon's [the Great's] captivity now, we are to be the “called out ones” and helping to call others out of this Babylon also, into the remnant people of God.
Even as it was then for Daniel, even so now is the time of our trial, probation and judgment [1 Peter 4:17]. What will we do with the opportunities, riches and gifts that God has bestowed upon us? Will we waste them or ask for wisdom of God in utilizing them for His glory and His Kingdom? If we cannot like Joseph and Daniel stand for the right though the heavens fall, even in the midst of a such an environment as Egypt and Babylon, wherein God is mocked, minimized and refused, how then can we stand before God in His presence when He comes as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, glorious and triumphant, awesome and terrible in majesty? Our God is coming soon, and He is truly a consuming Holy fire of Love… [Deuteronomy 4:24, 9:3; Hebrews 12:29; 1 John 4:8,16; etc], and so, shall not our hearts burn and blaze with that same intense and all-consuming desire and Holy fire, or shall we melt before Him?

>November 2, 2012 at 11:35 pm#318640DevolutionParticipantThere are a few issues I have with your church's doctrine.
I wish to start with wine/strong drink.
Firstly, wine/strong drink has two meanings in the scriptures, one is literal, the other metaphoric.
You declare that alcohol is forbidden in the scriptures yet provide no scripture to back your claim.
You used Habakkuk as an example, which did not condemn alcohol BTW, nevertheless, that verse in question is not speaking of literal wine, in fact, that verse is a prophecy and the wine in question is his doctrine.
Jesus' first miracle in Cana was turning water to wine.
To say it was non alcoholic wine is preposterous to say the least, why?
Well firstly, the guests at the wedding knew it was wine, in fact the governor said it was wine of good qualitySecondly, it was the only wine available at the wedding, don't you think that if everybody were still sober by the end of the celebration, this so called miracle would have been debunked by all those who attended by matter of complaint of which Jesus and His disciples would certainly have heard, heard not only from Mary, but by all of the guests that attended? It would have been a scandal and an insult that would have had the gossip mongers having a field day…serving up “wine” which was not wine…scandalous and deceptive!!
Christ was not nor ever would take part in deception!!
And what your teaching implies through its claim that it was not truly wine IS deception by definition.Thirdly, Jesus drank wine, have you not heard it said, The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! (Luke 7:34)
Luke 22:18
For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. (Other words, from examples in scripture, He will not drink it AGAIN until etc…not that Jesus drank for getting drunk, but drank wine with His meals now and then when appropriate)Have you not read certain advice given like this:
1 Timothy 5:23
Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. Was non alcoholic wine available back then? Of course not, non alcoholic wine is a modern innovation.
Or what of this:
1 Timothy 3:8
Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; This is not saying don't drink wine, but is meaning do not be overtaken by wine…moderation!!
Yes we are told to be sober minded, to have a drink now and then is fine, get tipsy if you like, try not to get drunk even, but tell me, what Christian after being filled with the spirit really enjoys getting drunk anymore anyway? Even if he did, as long as he does not sin, then there is no condemnation. Though I think it best if one did not get drunk, YET if one is clean inside, then even getting drunk once in a blue moon should be no cause for us to judge another mans servant…for he stands or falls to his master and his master alone. It is not what goes into a man that defiles a man, but that which comes out of a man which defiles.
As for the commandments, there is much to be said but for now I do not have the urge to go through the scriptures and gather all the info so I will answer them later…
Thank you.

The 3 Angels Messages
[The First Angel's Message]
And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Revelation 14:6
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Revelation 14:7
[The Second Angel's Message]
And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. Revelation 14:8
[The Third Angel's Message]
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand, Revelation 14:9
******* ******* ******* ******* ******* ******* *******
The Three Angels Messages of Revelation give us the most important messages for these, the last days, and contain the “Everlasting Gospel” of the Love of GOD and the Greatest Warnings to ever go to the whole world…
…but what do these messages from God, which go to the whole world, mean?:
