Hi SF,
It was the tree of the KNOWLEDGE OF good and evil.July 19, 2010 at 11:33 am#204963shimmerParticipantQuote (SimplyForgiven @ July 19 2010,21:36) well exactly we are here to serve not to force servitude.
You know the diffrence by getting your bible and asking God,
asking him if its your intentions or not.either way when things by Gods way its will work,
the one way they deteremine prophecy is it by actually coming true.
and when something is not of God it will diminish.when its our ways, there are always flawed and someone gets hurt and we have to deal with the consequences.
There were many through histories who did triumph; never fizzling rather flourishing; despite it being of the world. The Religion of Islam; Political and Military Superpowers, to name just a few.July 19, 2010 at 8:05 pm#205016SimplyForgivenParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 19 2010,15:01) Hi SF,

Christianity does tooJuly 20, 2010 at 9:35 am#205086NickHassanParticipantHi SH,
The body of Christ is one.
Those who are devoid of the Spirit divide.[Jude]July 20, 2010 at 9:53 am#205088shimmerParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 20 2010,21:35) Hi SH,

The fruit of Spirit—-Love; joy; peace; long-suffering; kindness; goodness; faith.
Some have selfish motives or are confused and can appear as Angels of light

Those are good things to strive for but the only way one can truly achieve the goal of being righteous as God is righteous is obeying all the true teachings of Jesus the Anointed. As that is true then it is wise to test what you yourself believe and watch to make sure your actions are consistent with the good news of the kingdom of heaven.

Exactly, Christianity is divided,
between the views of interpretation, which causes alot of harm and distrustBut CHRIST is not divided.

Unless we take up cross and follow Jesus, we are of the ways of Men and of the World; without SpiritBut the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Hey Shimmer,Good topic; tough to respond and tougher to live.
I have friends who are Jehovah Witnesses and they believe that going to college and trying to make more money is exactly what this verse is talking about. Not to mention the PRIDE that goes along with getting titles and degrees.
Heresies arise….Should we not work, pick up our crosses and follow Jesus? He quit his carpentry practice and went on the road. He sent 70 disciples ahead of him and they took nothing and depended on God's provision while they preached and healed, etc.
1 Jn 2:17 (b) but the one who does the will of God lives forever.
The Bible said whoever perseveres til the end will live forever, too.

Thats true.
thanks.August 2, 2010 at 11:10 am#207364ArnoldParticipantTo all! What we should do is try our best and strife to be more like Christ…. even being in this world, we are not of this world. All have fallen short of the glory of God…It is in Christ that we have redemption. Sin is not imputed to us and by Faith through Jesus Christ salvation is a free gift from God….. However that gives us no license to do evil…. Christ on the Sermon on the Mount told us that the road is narrow and few will fin it. He also magnified the Law and made it Holy…. We live under the New Covenant in Luke 22:20 and Christ gave us the Great Commandment to live by…….walk in the Spirit and try to be like Christ…I know that we little by little grow, and it takes time to be like Christ……Peace and Love Irene
