This is my first post on here so if it is a little rough don't get mad.

I was wondering what you all thought about this subject? Do we need to be baptized or is it just a symbol?

I myself believe we are not saved without being baptized because of the following verses:

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that disbelieveth shall be condemned.

Acts 2:38 And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

II Tim 2:10 (in which we are told we are saved in Christ) Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

Romans 6:3 (where we are told we are put in Christ by baptism) Or are ye ignorant that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

Gal. 3:27 (where we are again told we are put in Christ be baptism) For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ.

(I use ASV in case you want to know what translation)

From those verses we can gather that we are saved by baptism.

What do you think?
