Man is the object of God’s affections and hopes. He does not glorify Satan but pleads with men. Since the idolatry of Adam and Eve in Eden man has belonged as slaves to the oppressive kingdom of the god of this world. God’s plan of rescue involved the prophets, the Law and now eternal safety in the Son. Grace is available for every step.
