When Compliance isn’t Science

Compliance is necessary sometimes. Confronting problems at times takes all of us to solve. Case in hand, the the many diseases we have nearly forgotten about that once plagued mankind. I say ‘nearly’ because it’s almost impossible to eradicate these diseases fully as we never fully reach 100% vaccination rates globally. Thus, viruses and bacteria can survive and make a return based on how many are un-vaccinated. That said, in this current pandemic, many countries have reached 90% or better vaccination rates and the vaccinated continue to catch and pass on the virus. Given that, some questions need to be asked. Vaccines have prevented many diseases from seriously affected people. These include: Polio, Tetanus, Rubella, Measles, Whooping Cough, Pneumococcal Disease, Rotavirus, Mumps, Chickenpox, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, and Hepatitis B. Thanks to vaccines, most of these are largely eradicated. Just think about this You could have been saved from a lifelong disability and never know it thanks to vaccines. Of course, there are small risks with vaccines too, but their benefits usually far outweigh the risks. In this current pandemic however, we have got to the stage where many countries have reached 90% double vaccination rates. Yet the vaccinated are still able to to catch Covid-19. They can even become seriously ill or die. So the vaccines obviously do not provide 100% protection, but no one is claiming that. So what is the point of being vaccinated? Well, statistics show that double vaccinated people on average get less symptoms and are less likely to suffer serious symptoms or die. So here is a question right now that needs to be asked. Why are those who have contracted Covid-19 and survived, asked to get vaccine shots or boosters? If they survived Covid-19, it means they have produced antibodies to successfully fight the virus. So why can’t they get a vaccine or immunity certificate? Especially considering that according to a number of studies, natural immunity offers much greater protection. An Israeli study in November 2021 shows natural immunity delivers 13 times more protection than COVID vaccines. In December 2021, research from Qatar was published in the New England Journal of Medicine. It found that the natural immunity from prior infection of Covid-19 has a 92% efficacy against reinfection of the Beta variant, and a 98% efficacy against reinfection of the Alpha variant. So here we are in January 2022 and the world’s number 1 player, Novak Djokovic has been banned from playing in the Australian Open and for three years, although he can challenge that. Yet, he got Covid back in December meaning that he has natural immunity and poses less of a risk than the vaccinated. The mantra for the last few years has been to trust the science, yet here is a case where science was ignored. When Djokovic won his first court case, the Immigration minister revoked his Australian visa anyway. I was keen to hear the reason why. I knew it could not be because he posed a medical … Continue reading When Compliance isn’t Science
