Is Islam mentioned in the Bible?

Have you ever wondered if Islam is mentioned in Bible prophecy. For a religion with about 1.5 billion followers and with its opposition to Israel, the Jews, Christians, and the West, you would think Bible prophecy would have something to say.

End-time eschatology as a whole has a number of theories as to how the end-times will play out. Of the many views there are arguably two main views which are: the Futurist view, and the Preterist view. The Futurist view is perhaps the most popular, but the Preterist view has been around for much longer and was believed by many believers throughout history. Both views have little or nothing to say about Islam though.

The Futurist view holds that many prophecies are yet to happen regarding the Last Days. Proponents of this view see a day when an Antichrist will rise up and become a powerful world leader. He will initially be a man of peace and be aided by a great false prophet. Citizens of the world will be forced to take a mark which will be a computer chip or some kind of mark or barcode in order to buy or sell. He will persecute the Jews and Christians alike and have the power for 42 months to kill all Believers.

The Preterist view holds that many of the prophecies have already been fulfilled. Proponents usually point to the Holy Roman Empire, the Vatican, Rome, and the Pope as fulfilling major end-times prophecies.

Both these views have their merits and perceived strengths and weaknesses, however a relatively new view on end-time events has risen up and is gaining popularity. This view teaches that Islam is the Beast and the Antichrist is the Islamic Mahdi, a figure prophesied in the Quran. His coming is the hope of Muslims in the same way that Christians wait the coming of Jesus the messiah or Jews await the coming of the messiah.

This end-time Islamic eschatology is explained in detail in a writing called:
