God reasoned with Hebrews as well as with Greeks.June 15, 2015 at 11:02 am #799586
Indeed God uses many tools to draw men to the blessed light.
But it is the light that is meant to take over from there.

Yes, reason is just a tool.June 15, 2015 at 1:22 pm #799603
And a very weak one in comparison with the teaching work of the Spirit.June 16, 2015 at 10:24 am #799648
If you can draw a man to the truth through reason then good. But he must accept truth in his heart not just his head.
But many are the devices that we can use to draw people to the truth and gospel. Paul reasoned with people and became like them to win them.
We can be creative in our methods to draw people to God. But ultimately, not all who accept things intellectually will be be born of the spirit and transformed from death unto life. We cannot force anyone to go that far. We can show them the door, but it is up to each man whether he walks through it.
When we fish, we can put bait on the hook, but we can’t force anything beyond that. But to do nothing because your belief is that only God does it, is to be lazy and to bury your talent.June 13, 2016 at 2:59 pm #814814hoghead1Participant

If we are going to talk about the Trinity, we first have to bear in mind that it is largely an extra-biblical collection of formulations, using terms not found in the Bible. The reason is that the Bible is not a book of metaphysics, says little about how God is built. We get snap shots of God, but that’s it and often they conflict. The reader has to put them together into a unified picture. The early fathers relied heavily on Hellenic metaphysics and also standards of perfection. Terms such as “ousia” or “substance” come from Hellenic substance metaphysics, not Scripture. Since the Greeks enshrined as divine the immune and the immutable, God was defined as a wholly simple, immaterial, immutable nonrelational being, a monad. Then the problem started, as the fathers tried to introduce the complex, relational machinery of the Trinity into this monad. Result: Confusion and contradiction. So we need to carefully bear in mind what model or picture of God as he is in his own nature is being used. The biblical God is a highly anthropomorphic God, who is credited with deep emotion and also change, unlike the Hellenic model of the fathers.January 17, 2018 at 11:59 am #820825
trinity is a false god.

And those who love not are not of God.
This is the truth right?
If not the truth for you, then you are wrong.
God is love.March 17, 2018 at 4:09 pm #821670
Love..does not rejoice in unrighteousness,
but rejoices with the truth.March 20, 2018 at 3:10 pm #821779
That is right Nick. The truth is one, while lies are many.
Jesus is the Christ, that’s the truth.
Jesus was born as the messiah in Bethlehem is also the truth.
Scripture is truth.
Lies are many. Our own understanding limited at the very best, but totally inadequate.
Some say Jesus is not the Christ and some say was not always the Christ, others say Jesus didn’t exist.
Some love not the truth, but nevertheless consider themselves to be wise.
Even wiser than scripture itself they think.
They judge scripture through the lense of their own understanding.
Humility is best. God exalts the humble but sin of pride he will judge.
The humble and innocent is to who God reveals his truth.
He didn’t reveal these things to the wise of this world and to those who exalt themselves..March 20, 2018 at 5:11 pm #821782
Were you referencing anyone this time or just offering general paternal advice?

T8….Jesus is the anointed, not the anointing, where in scripture does it show his anointing, was it at his berth?, or later? You simply are pushing you views of a “preexisting ” man Jesus. Some trinitarian carryover right?
Peace and love to you and yours. …….geneApril 14, 2018 at 5:38 pm #822260
lol Gene. You say that Jesus is the anointed, and in the same breath say that Jesus was not the Christ because Jesus was born as a baby in Bethlehem right?
What you actually believe Gene is the same as Nick. You believe that Jesus is not the Christ. You believe that Jesus Christ is the Christ.
Gene, I think your persistent is gaining you a disciple though.April 14, 2018 at 5:39 pm #822261

You claim to see?
But you are yet to hear the voice of God speaking through His Son Jesus?
…in these last days God has spoken to us in His Son.
Not a hard one.
