    Hi,
The Light gives understanding, awareness and self awareness, awareness of the things of God such that we can see the invisible kingdom. It also gives awareness of sin and evil, and those addicted to sin hate that light. That light reveals the truth of the Word of God and shows the way, the path of following Jesus.
The prince of darkness, the ruler of the kingdom of darkness cannot resist the light because light always defeats darkness. He is a liar and has been from the beginning before the creation of the world. Darkness was over the earth till that light was sent into the world.

    Hi,
    Gen 1.3
” Let there be light, and there was light”
    Jn 1.4
“In him was life, and the life was the light of the world. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it There came a man sent from God and his name was John. He came as a witness to testify about the light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light. There was the true light , which coming into the world enlightends every man. He was in the world and the world was made through him, and the world did not know him”

    Is this the same light

    Hi Nick,

I believe that James 1.17 bears witness of Gen 1.3 as John 1.1 bears witness of God speaking in Genesis.

  • Jam 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

  • Hi Cubes and Malcolm,
The Father of Lights speaks a word and that word which is light appears?

    Quote (malcolm ferris @ May 11 2006,03:33)
Jesus is the blood of God, blood carries life, the life came from God.

    Hi Malcolm,
God is not flesh but Spirit.
Jesus was conceived by the Father's Spirit and Mary.
Blood is of earth and remains on earth..
“Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God”.[1Cor 15]
Life is in the blood but the life of Jesus was as our life as Son of Man.
The flesh of the Son of Man was put over his separate being as Word.
It was never the flesh of God, in my view.

Sorry Nick but there is no scripture that states Jesus was conceived by the Father's Spirit and Mary
Or is there? Perhaps you could show it to me?

    JOB 19:25-27
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

Was Job lying here or are these words true? Are the bodies of flesh redeemed as part of the work of salvation or not?

    ROMANS 8:22-23
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

    Quote
The flesh of the Son of Man was put over his separate being as Word.

Where does it say that in scripture? That the flesh of the Son of Man was put over his separate being as Word?

    I PETER 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

We are told by Peter in this verse that we are to be born again of the pure Word seed (spora) of God and not the corruptible word seed of men.
This is the same Word of God which produced our Savior Jesus Christ – the (spora) Word Seed of God that produced a seed (sperma) of God in the virgin's womb – produces a seed of God in the virgin mind of a genuine believer. This is not a sexual birth but a spiritual birth. In the case of the rebirth this is a quickening of the soul that has already come forth through the fallen human spirit in a body of death. In the case of Jesus who was born without sin – the soul came forth from God's spirit of Life into the body of death.
The body is death because of the curse on the earth in the garden of Eden. The spirit of man is linked in its nature to that fallen body through the five senses of the body: see, smell, hear, taste and feel. And also through the senses of the mind: conscience, memory, reason, imagination and emotion. And so the soul was brought into a condition of bondage, subject to these senses which are influenced by a sinful nature.
Jesus soul came forth by the Spirit of God, so his memory was from the time before when he was with God, his conscience was guided by this former existence he had, his reason, his imagination and emotions were all able to draw from this former experience with God, as well as being influenced by his present physical condition.
In this way he was able to be tempted in all points as even are the reborn sons of God. Before the rebirth there was no temptation involved we just ran with the world and its ways by nature.
In this way he was also able to overcome as every son of God reborn of the Spirit of God is able to overcome the world by His Word.
In this way, in a body of death – he was able to die for our sins. Even as we are dead in the flesh and to the flesh by the Spirit of God which is our Life.

    Hi,
    Jn 1.6
“There came a man sent from God…He was not the light but he came to testify about the light”
    Jn 5.33f
” You have sent to John and he has testified to the truth. But the testimony which I receive is not from man, but I say these things that you may be saved. He was the lamp that was burning and was shining, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light. But the testimony I give is greater than the testimony of John”'

John was a lamp that showed the light as are all prophets.

    Hi,
We struggle along the pathway waiting and hoping for the inner light to grow brighter and enable us to know better the Word of truth, and to grow stronger unto eternal life.

    2 Peter 1
” 19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

    2Jn 2
“20But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

21I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

22Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

23Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

24Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

25And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

26These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

27But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.”

    heb 12
    ”  12Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

13And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. “

    Hi,
We must become sons of light.
    Luke 16:8
“And his master praised the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light.

    John 12:36
“While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light ” These things Jesus spoke, and He went away and hid Himself from them.

    1 Thessalonians 5:5
    for you are all sons of light and sons of day We are not of night nor of darkness;

Christ was the light of the world.
In him was light for the life of men.
We must walk while the light is with us.

    Hi,
Jesus came with the light of truth.
    Men offer speculation and confusion.
The light is simple and pure.
    Why would men prefer confusion?
    John 1:9
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

    1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

    Ephesians 5:8
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

    John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

    Isaiah 9:2
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

    Psalm 56:13
For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

    Love his words.
    Therein is light.
Walk in the light of established truth.
Following theologians only means we will fall into the same pit that is their destiny

    Hi,
    The Spirit is as oil.
Oil burns in lamps to give light.
    Exodus 27:20
And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.
    Exodus 39:37
The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light,

Christ means anointed one, anointed with the oil of the Spirit, burning bright to give light to the world.
We too are lamps that must not be hidden but at least visible top the world to draw men to that light.

    Exodus 35:8
And oil for the light, and spices for anointing oil, and for the sweet incense,

    Hi,
Christ came to bring the light of understanding to the confusion of the god of this world.
But men still prefer to scratch around looking for any possible confusion
So that they can hold up their own matchstick aglow.
Beware of the wind of death coming.
    The light must overcome.

    Hi Tim2
    You said in another post
“But it doesn't matter, because as I said in my post, Jesus is the true Light. John 1:9. “
    True but so was John
    John 5:35
He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
    and the disciples
    'Acts 13:47
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.'
    Matthew 5:14
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Christ is for us the light and is in the light.
    1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

All showed the light of the given Spirit of Truth to men and the Father is the ultimate source of that light.

    1 John 1:5
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Even the gospel is light drawn of the Spirit from the Father of lights and the Word too in the same way is a lamp too our feet.

    2 Corinthians 4:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

    All light comes from something.

The light we see in the day comes from our sun. The light at night also comes from our sun and other suns too. We use that light as we see fit.

But the light has an origin.

God is the origin of all (good).
