Dear Nick,

Of course God has a son and is his own son.For God being so far above us has to communicate in terms we humans can somewhat understand.God brought himself down to our understanding in the form of prophets trying to communicate though it didn’t work so well,which is why the Jews were rejected for their failures.He came as a physical although mirrored image in Christ which was foreshadowed as his son and now called his Son.When we see the Son-the wisdom of God for us-we see the Father.

It is said no man can see God or only the pure in heart can see God so if one is purified by seeing Christ then they see God the best as He will allow.
