    Hi,
Some see men as helpless autumn leaves that are forcibly blown in the direction of God's will.
Though the gentle breeze helps us walk, grace is not any form of gale.
Our gracious God wants us to partake in His works.
That is why we are rewarded.

    Ruth 2:12
The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

    Luke 6:23
Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
    1 Corinthians 3:14
If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

    Revelation 22:12
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

    Cooperation with grace

    Eph.2:1-12
1 And you, being dead to your offenses and sins,
2 in which once you walked, in accord with the eon of this world, in accord with the chief of the jurisdiction of the air, the spirit now operating in the sons of stubbornness
3 (among whom we also all behaved ourselves once in the lusts of our flesh, doing the will of the flesh and of the comprehension, and were, in our nature, children of indignation, even as the rest),
4 yet God, being rich in mercy, because of His vast love with which He loves us
5 (we also being dead to the offenses and the lusts), vivifies us together in Christ (in grace are you saved!)
6 and rouses us together and seats us together among the celestials, in Christ Jesus,
7 that, in the oncoming eons, He should be displaying the transcendent riches of His grace in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
8 For in grace, through faith, are you saved, and this is not out of you; it is God's approach present,
9 not of works, lest anyone should be boasting.
10 For His achievement are we, being created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God makes ready beforehand, that we should be walking in them.
11 Wherefore, remember that once you, the nations in flesh — who are termed 'Uncircumcision' by those termed 'Circumcision,' in flesh, made by hands —
12 that you were, in that era, apart from Christ, being alienated from the citizenship of Israel, and guests of the promise covenants, having no expectation, and without God in the world.

Notice verse 4 …yet God! Notice it doesn't say “but you”, or “you must”, or anything to do with you!
Also see verse 8. …For in grace, through faith, are you saved, AND THIS IS NOT OF YOU, LEST ANYONE SHOULD BE BOASTING. But I guess you feel a little bit of boasting is alright?

Verse 10. For HIS (GOD) achievement are we. But you just helped a little, right?

And notice verse 12, we (gentiles) where without God in the world, during this eon (when Jesus taught the “lost sheep of the house of Israel).

    Blessings.

    Hi CO,

    For context
    Eph1
1Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,
To the saints in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus:

So now we can understand Chapter 2.

The body of Christ is ONE and we must ber reborn to enter the kingdom
All men are not the saints in Christ Jesus so this letter is not to the heathen world as described in v 1-3 of Ch2. We are those described rather in v 4 onwards. Not of the Jewish Law and thus with no hope as Gentiles we were rescued according to the grace of God from the sad fate of the heathen world who remain under the wrath of God.
    .

Addressed to the saints in Ephesus, but for all. After all, you and I read it, and we're not in Ephesus. Do you think we should not read this??? Should all ignore Pauls epistles because we are not in the cities he addressed to? I think not. You must use common sense, along with scripture.

    Hi CO,
The Body of Christ is one forever.
Should Paul write to Timothy or Titus or to the saints in Ephesus or Corinth
he wrote to all in the body of Christ.

    ps
    ONE BODY
    Romans 12:4
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

    Romans 12:5
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

    1 Corinthians 10:17
For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

    1 Corinthians 12:12
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

    1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

    1 Corinthians 12:14
For the body is not one member, but many.

    1 Corinthians 12:18
But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

    1 Corinthians 12:19
And if they were all one member, where were the body?

    1 Corinthians 12:20
But now are they many members, yet but one body.

    1 Corinthians 12:25
That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

    Nick.
So if an unbeliever should not read Pauls epistles? How will he ever believe if he is not to read scripture?

    Blessings

    Hi CO,
They are replete with godly wisdom.
They do point to the way of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Folks may be fascinated and seek to receive of the God of Paul.
They cannot fully understand his words or yet receive of that grace in Jesus.
So without the enlightening by of the Spirit of God reading such remains for them an exercise in futility.

Chosenone……you have presented it right. Grace is the Key to salvation, our works are as filthy rages it says, But God the Father operating through Us by His Grace is what changes us it has nothing to do with (OUR WORK) If righteousness is done through us it is a result of God's Spirit operating in us. For He works in us (BOTH) to WILL and do of (HIS) good pleasure.

Unless the Lord build the house the weary builders toil in (VAIN).

Peace and love to you and yours…………gene

    Hi GB,
God is operating His will through those in Christ
if they are not resisting and quenching the Spirit

Nick……..Who determines that you? Could it be possible you are resisting and quenching the Spirit?. You seam to think God is not capable of converting the Human mind and giving Him repentance unless the person chooses it, that is not what scripture says, but its what you are saying. Just food for thought.

Nick I want to make you aware of something, you have twice that I saw. In Acts it says Lord Jesus Christ, you say LORD Jesus Christ. You need to be careful that when you say LORD it is the Almighty LORD God and when it is Lord it is Jesus Christ. There is a difference.
    Peace and Love Irene

    Hi Gb,
Putting to one side your usual negativity towards others I am pleased you finally agree with scripture that stiffnecked men even among the saved can quench and grieve the Spirit of God.

    God's will is done
but not necessarily through you or me.

Nick……….Now that something i agree with, God's will Will be done in every person. If He chooses to save a person and change his thinking He is very capable of doing it with or without your or my permission. ” for He works all things by the council of (HIS) WILL, and if that WILL is to save all His creation, I think He is quite capable of doing it, Again with or without (OUR) permission.
