This is an excerpt from an interesting blog that makes the case Jesus is not God.

    Summary of the facts

    Jesus was born
Jesus lived a life of obedience to and dependence upon God
Jesus was tempted, in the same ways all of us are tempted, but He never sinned
    Jesus died
Jesus was raised from the dead by God
    Jesus was made immortal
Jesus now sits on the right hand of God in heaven, waiting for the appointed time to return to earth.

Follow this link to the Hope of the Bible blog on Jesus Son of God not God The Son and its supporting passages from Scripture.

    Gene,

I posted it because of how the posts of videos supporting the trinity were so popular.

    Hi Kerwin,

The reason “the trinity” is such a popular idea
is because it is based on wording in “the bible”

    “God the Father”
    “Son of God”
    and
    “Holy Spirit”

But when they say ‘Jesus is God’ they loose the family arrangement of God.
Let me explain. We become part of God’s family, but we don’t become “God”.

    God the Father begets
the Son Christ who begets the
Holy Spirit in you – making YOU – a God Grand Son.

Let me put it a different way: Jesus came from God to give God to you.
So does “God” give God? No, God gave Jesus who gives God to you.
“The Bible” is not that hard to understand with God on-board.

… it would have to be:

    God the Father
    God the son
    God the grand son

they instinctively know that doesn’t work too well – because we don’t become “God”

    Hi Ed,

Jesus Christ does not say he is our father.

We are the adopted children of God and his brothers.

The brothers in the family of God call Him their Father. Eph3.14-15

    Ed,

We are also taught Jesus received the Holy Spirit just as we do but he did not need to be adopted because he was never separated from God because of his sins. (Matthew 12:18)

Believers become the sons of God when they receive the Spirit. We are instructed to follow him and one of the first steps to do so is to receive the Spirit.

    Hi Nick and Kerwin,

Thank you both for giving your input,
and of course I agree with you both as well.

God’s HolySpirit makes us God’s children just like
God’s HolySpirit fathered the spirit of Christ.

“Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence:
shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?” (Hebrews 12:9)

    Hi KW,

He was born of a woman.

He became an overcomer just as we are to become too.

    Nick,

Yes, as he was first to live by the Spirit and mediates with God so that we may too.

    Terrarica,

    This is off topic.

Find one place where it literally states Jesus was created first by God.

What I find is that it in written that “in the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth”.

    Hi Kerwin,

It is JW doctrine based on misinterpretation of a Rev 3:14 and Col 1:17.
Pierre will not let go of this false belief no matter who explains it to him.
Rev 3:14 and Col 1:17 are about Christ’s preeminence, not a creation order!

    EdJ,

So he will not be able to find a passage where it literally states Jesus was created before all else.

I can find where he is the Son of God, as of the Spirit and the Son of David, as of the flesh, as well as the fact he was made of a woman.

That woman must have been created before him.

    Ed,

That probably means he will not answer my post.

Hi Kerwin, what I expect Pierre will do is this:

Post those two verses and claim that
they mean Jesus was ‘created first’.
(it is JW doctrine Pierre learned)

also Pierre will likely post a bunch of unrelated verses.
with NO-explanation as to “why” he even posted them.

If we’re lucky Pierre will explain how his “brain-bondo”
believes this to be case, since the bible does not teach it.

    Ed J,

That would not answer my question but perhaps that is what will happen. God willing we will see.

    Hi,

Of course the Word was with God in the beginning.

But the Word had yet to be made flesh in Jesus of Nazareth.

    Nick,

I agree but terraricca does not see it that way and thus my challenge.
